Our Team

At ARCH Hospice we are proud to have a caring team of staff, physicians and volunteers. Our physicians and nursing staff work closely with a team of other professionals and volunteers to care for our residents, 24 hours a day. 

Care Team

Our Care Team is comprised of Nurses, Personal Support Workers, Physicians, and a Nurse Practitioner. Alongside volunteers, our team creates a supportive environment for our residents and their families. Recognizing the importance of self-care and ongoing learning, we all participate in annual training and wellness activities that continue to develop our skills.

Residence Team

Our Residence Team oversees various areas including supportive care, grief and bereavement services, administration, fundraising, building maintenance and day-to-day operations. The residence team supports the care the community has come to expect and deserve.

Christianne Monico

Executive Director

ARCH is pleased to welcome Christianne Monico as its new Executive Director. Christianne comes to us with a career spanning more than 25 years; including acute care and community nursing (Oncology, Renal, Palliative Care, Home Care and Specialty Palliative Care Coordination).  Christianne has over two decades of a variety of Leadership experiences; including Supervisory to Middle to Senior Team Management; and most recently, having served as the CEO for THRIVE Child Development Centre. In addition to Christianne's front-line Nursing, Care Coordination and varying levels of Managerial experience in Palliative Care, she has also held the Canadian Nurses' Association - Hospice Palliative Care Certification (CHPCN) for 5 years, taught sessions of the Fundamentals of Palliative Care, briefly served as the regional Network Director and also sat on the Ontario Palliative Care Network. Most importantly, we look forward to Christianne joining the ARCH team due to her passion for supportive end-of-life care and her compassionate nature.

Nicole Pearce

Manager of Operations

Nicole is a longtime member of the ARCH team - she started as a volunteer at the hospice the first year ARCH opened its doors. Working with staff and volunteers, Nicole oversees finances, office administration and maintenance. You can catch her anywhere from the office to the boiler rooms, staining the building, or even fixing someone's laptop. A true jill-of-all-trades, she is a true master of organization and a calm multitasker. She is responsible for ensuring all internal ARCH operations run smoothly. She is an avid runner and has a love of fishing and traditional archery.

Kelly Leith

Clinical Care Lead

Kelly joined the ARCH team in 2017 as a Registered Nurse and now serves as the Clinical Care Lead. This role allows her to work alongside the care team to support them and deliver the best possible care to our residents. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013. A majority of her experience stems from working at Sault Area Hospital on a Medical Unit as well as working closely with Palliative/Oncology patients throughout the hospital. Kelly finds great comfort in providing quality, compassionate care through end-of-life to both our residents and families. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children as well as her close group of friends.

Laura Fryia

Intake & Accreditation Lead

As Intake Coordinator, Laura is typically the first point of contact for many of our residents and their families, long before they arrive at ARCH. As a Registered Nurse for more than 35 years, Laura has an incredibly gentle and nurturing nature that allows her to delicately deal with demanding situations. 

Julie Premo

Manager of Training & Coordination 

Julie is passionate about people, relationships, and wellness. She is responsible for the recruitment, retention and coordination of the 140 volunteers who serve at Hospice. With the kitchen being the heart of any home, especially at Hospice, Julie works alongside Chef Tom to deliver our meal service program. With our beautiful 10 acres, she works with our volunteers to create a beautiful and calming outdoor space. At ARCH, she appreciates having the opportunity to learn from our residents and to help fulfil their wishes. They leave a lasting impression on her and continue to positively touch her life whether it be listening to their words of wisdom, their favourite quote or simply to remind her to live life to the fullest. Julie loves taking on Bucket Listing Challenges from running a marathon, parasailing, travelling to Costa Rica or cycling 100 km in support of ARCH. She is a proud mom of three beautiful children and enjoys spending time with family and friends in the beautiful scenic north.

Katherine Williamson

Events Coordinator

With style, creativity and commitment to excellence, Katherine plays an important role in the planning and execution of all ARCH events. From small and imitate gatherings to grand galas, and fundraisers, each event is met with enthusiasm and unique ideas. She has gained valuable expertise working with third party event organizers who graciously plan fundraisers for ARCH. With a background in Public Relations and Event Management, she has a knack for building and fostering relations with donors, community partners, resident families and volunteers. When she’s not planning or organizing, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is the proud mom of two lovable golden retrievers.

Miranda Leonard

Marketing & Events Associate

Miranda has a passion for all things creative. She brings years of academic and professional experience to ARCH with her background in both graphic design and visual arts. Her role at Hospice reflects her skills as she has the privilege of developing the graphics and visual identities that represent events and other ARCH-related media. Miranda works with the Fund Development Team to establish event/fundraising concepts and acquire resources to best serve the residents. Aside from her love of art and design, Miranda expresses herself through music and dance. She values spending quality time with her loved ones and believes that every day provides an opportunity for self-improvement and growth.

Natasha Rinaldi

Manager of Supportive Care

Natasha is the manager of Supportive Care and our Registered Social Worker on staff. She holds a certificate in grief and loss counselling. Natasha connects with the humanistic approach, believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, as well as empathetic responding in her work at Hospice. She is a listener, is patient, and is present, and these three things combined have had a powerful impact on those she comes in contact with. Her role includes supporting residents and family members through a psycho-social-spiritual approach, as well as facilitating grief and bereavement groups and individual counselling sessions.  Natasha’s repertoire is unique and vast where she combines her gentle style with her training in Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, and Mindfulness. In her spare time, you will find Natasha teaching or taking a yoga class, running the many landscapes of our beautiful community, and spending time with her two nieces. 

Jenna Polutanovich

Family Support Facilitator

Jenna is ARCH’s Family Support Facilitator, she is better known at ARCH for being the Child and Youth Worker on staff.  Jenna brings years of training and experience in working with Children and Youth. She has a Counselling Certificate in Trauma, Grief and Loss in Children and is currently working toward her Bachelors of Social Work Degree. Jenna’s role at ARCH includes supporting the emotional needs of residents, and family members, however the main focus of her role is to support children and youth through their unique grief journey. She uses an expressive arts and emotion-focused framework when working with Children. You can usually find her in our playroom!  In her spare time, Jenna teaches dance to all ages, you may even see her dancing in our halls. She has a love for family, friends and all things nature. She especially adores spending time with her niece and nephew.

Alisha Kreutzweiser

Early Resource Nurse Coordinator

Alisha is a Nurse Coordinator with ARCH Connect. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2010. Prior to coming to ARCH she practiced as a Registered Nurse at Sault Area Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency department, Cardiac Catheterization lab and Medical-Surgical units, where she gained a vast experience in palliative care. She has a passion for people and looks forward to being a part of your journey. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Dan and her two children, Grayson and Emma. They enjoy hiking, camping, biking and spending quality time together.

Tracy Byron

Early Resource Nurse Coordinator

Tracy will be the new Early Resource Nurse Coordinator with our Shared Care Team, “Connect”! Tracy brings a wealth of experience in chronic disease management, geriatrics, program development and also palliative care in the acute setting. Tracy also has her Six Sigma LEAN certification and has worked on the Senior Friendly, Frail Senior, Slow-paced Rehab and Falls Pathway cross-sector initiatives. 

Bree Bennett

Marketing & Events Associate 

Bree is the Marketing and Events Associate with the Algoma Residential Community Hospice, Fund Development Team. She began as an intern through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) three years ago after completing her undergrad at Algoma University. After growing up in Sault Ste. Marie, Bree has a passion for Northern Ontario and Health Care improvement. Her main role at ARCH entails raising funds to support Algoma residents and their families before, during, and after the end-of-life journey. You can ask her about making an impact,  partnership opportunities, media inquires, lotteries and community engagement!
